IFES Calendar 2021

I was tasked with creating calendar illustrations and layout on the theme of cyber security for client IFES. The illustrations needed to feature the main character of a lynx, a treasured animal in North Macedonia. To align with the client’s brand and Macedonian culture, the color scheme needed to feature the national color of red prominently.

I started by researching different cybersecurity concepts and how they could be visually represented through the character of a lynx. After sketching some ideas, my colleague Marija Smilevska (the lead designer in this project) and I finalized twelve illustrations, each representing a different month and cyber security topic. For example, the illustration for October featured the lynx sitting in a cafe that offered free Wi-Fi. For time efficiency, we used stock elements as a base and built on top of them as required for each scene.

We used a mix of flat design and subtle textures to ensure the illustrations and layout were cohesive and visually engaging. We also incorporated shades of red throughout the layout to tie it together.
